DJI and Pond5 Rolls Out Premium Aerial Footage Collection

Ever since global content marketplace Pond5 and Chinese dronemaker DJI announced their partnership to launch a new online market for aerial footage taken by FAA-compliant drone pilots, people have been eagerly awaiting the chance to peruse a world-class collection of birds-eye perspectives.

Now, they have released the first wave of what is sure to be an impressive collection of aerial drone footage from all around the world.

All shots have been taken by drone pilots with a Remote Pilot Certificate, who now have the opportunity to reach a global audience through the Pond5 aerial drone footage marketplace.

The results are enchanting, with wide sweeping landscapes and top-down views of some of the planet’s most stunning natural and metropolitan sceneries.

For those in the advertising, graphic design, film making and related industries, the marketplace is sure to be a mecca for all that is aerial.

Curated from a constant stream of aerial footage submitted by licenced DJI pilots, Pond5 CEO Jason Teichman says, “The response to our call for filmmakers using DJI drones is truly inspiring.”

“We received a wealth of aerial footage to choose from for this collection, and it’s continuing to roll in non-stop. Being able to provide our buyers with shots of this quality captured by certified pilots speaks directly to Pond5’s mission of supporting filmmakers on both sides of our marketplace, and to the passion of the artists in the DJI community.”

Pond5 has assured that the content is bound to be received well, describing it as “compelling and award-worthy”.

“This collection marks the start of a new era for filmmakers looking to purchase and sell drone footage,” said Michael Perry, Managing Director of DJI, North America. “We’re always amazed at the sheer quality and diversity that pilots using DJI drones display in their work. Bringing this creativity to the millions of filmmakers who use Pond5 in a way that reinforces safe and legal drone operations is extremely rewarding.

To be included in the collection, DJI pilots must have their Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, although if a pilot lives outside the USA they are encouraged to submit their credentials as Pond5 says there are plans to extend the scope of their collection to include that taken by DJI pilots around the globe.
