Florian Ledoux Captures Haunting Aerial Footage of Endangered Narwhal

Appearing as if a cross between a unicorn and a whale, the narwhal is a sea mammal that resides in the Arctic waters between Canada, Greenland, Norway and Russia. With a spiraling tusk (actually an enlarged tooth) that can reach lengths of 10 feet with incredible sensory abilities, it is believed that noise pollution by oil and gas shipping and naval activity may be a cause of it’s official status of “Near Threatened”. Aerial videographer Florian Ledoux has made it part of his mission in life to highlight the environmental plight of the Arctic region through his work.

He has now released haunting footage of this magical creature, attracting almost 90,000 views on Airvuz. When asked about his passion for the Arctic and it’s creatures, he said, “Those moments are incredible to me, something happens within me—it is a deep vibe that consumes all my body and soul. It’s what I live for. When I photograph, I’m somewhere else”.
