Arcimoto Launches the ‘Deliverator’ Electric Vehicle

Arcimoto has announced plans to launch greener and more efficient options for the last mile delivery and first responder segments of the transport industry.

Arcimoto’s ‘Deliverator’ is designed to quickly, safely, and affordably get goods to the last mile will target 100 city miles of range, 75-mph top speed, 350-pound carrying capacity, and 20+ cubic feet of cargo space.

The Deliverator is a pure electric, last-mile delivery solution designed to more quickly, safely, and affordably get your goods where they need to go. Built on the Arcimoto Platform, the Deliverator can be customized to carry a wide array of products, from parcels to pizza, groceries to dry cleaning.

Arcimoto’s Rapid Responder is designed on similar lines for emergency services and can help supplement vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances.

The pure-electric Rapid Responder is built on the Arcimoto platform, and designed for specialized emergency, security and law enforcement services at a fraction of the economical and ecological cost of traditional ICE vehicles.

Arcimoto, an Oregon-based electric vehicle manufacturer, is famous for its three-wheeled Fun Utility Vehicle (FUV) which was originally designed as a passenger vehicle.

‘Arcimoto Announces The Deliverator, Three-Wheel Pure Electric Local Delivery Vehicle. It Delivers.’  Acrimoto’s tweet read.

Similar to Arcimoto’s FUV the three-wheeled, electric ‘Deliverator’ is a hybrid between a car and a motorcycle with additional cargo space for local deliveries and is scheduled to hit the streets in Oregon, California and Washington this summer. The Deliverator can be customized to carry anything from parcels to pizza, groceries, pharmaceuticals and dry cleaning. The Deliverator claims Acrimoto is an efficient alternative to delivery vans and trucks since it’s easier to maneuver around cities yet takes up just one-quarter of their footprint. The Deliverator will operate most of the day in the city yet still give it access to highways.

While The Deliverator starts at $19,990 and is available for pre-order now production won’t start until 2020.

According to Mark Frohnmayer, President and Founder of Arcimoto:

“With the Deliverator, we set out to create a vehicle that would solve the problem of local and last-mile delivery, which has traditionally been dominated by big, expensive, polluting delivery trucks and vans that often block traffic and increase congestion in urban environments. The Deliverator’s nimble, small footprint can improve fulfillment and delivery times by allowing the operator to more easily move through traffic and find parking compared to a full-sized automobile. With reduced fuel and maintenance costs, we believe the Deliverator will offer significant per-mile savings.”

About Arcimoto’s Rapid Responder:

Arcimoto believes that the Rapid Responder can help perform many of the duties of traditional ICE vehicles used by first responders at a fraction of the cost and with reduced environmental impact too.

While it can’t replace full-size ambulances or fire trucks entirely, the smaller Rapid Responder will be more maneuverable while slicing through traffic and provide life-saving aid quicker, the difference could be life or death.

Arcimoto announced that the Rapid Responder Fleet will undergo trails in pilot programs with the City of Eugene, the Eugene Springfield Fire Department, and the city of Eastvale, California. Arcimoto anticipates that the first production Rapid Responders will be delivered in 2020.

According to Frohnmayer:

“Arcimoto’s ultra-efficient three-wheeled platform offers real advantages for rapid response applications. We believe that its small-footprint, maneuverability, and instant torque will allow first responders to more quickly move through congested urban cores during emergencies, and its extraordinary efficiency will help fleets meet their long term emissions goals. More than anything, we are excited to create a vehicle that helps save lives.”
