3DR, FLIR Launch Thermal Imaging Site Scanning Solution for DJI M200 Drones
3D Robotics (3DR), the drone software company, has launched an industry-first FLIR thermal imaging site scanning solution for DJI M200 drones for engineering, construction and mining professionals. This addition to the company’s Site Scan flight app enables customers to create structurally detailed thermal point clouds, orthomosaics, 3D meshes and digital elevation models. The market-driven software solution was inspired by customers who use thermal imaging in sUAS for a variety of use cases including building, structure, and utility inspection, mapping solar arrays, assessing solar panel productivity and monitoring concrete curing.
The DJI M210 drone equipped with the Zenmuse X4S and XT, made in collaboration with FLIR via our Thermal by FLIR partnership program, captures RGB (red green blue) and thermal imagery. Combining RGB and thermal imaging makes it easy for customers to create accurate, reliable thermal data so they can inspect specific points and get exact temperature readings. The imagery from both cameras automatically uploads to the cloud and transforms into thermal maps and models using Pix4D’s industry-leading thermal processing capabilities.
