Following the success of the first MRO Innovate event in 2017 at MRO Europe in London, Aviation Week has once again invited 8tree and a few other emerging technology firms to host an innovation forum at MRO Americas 2018 in Orlando. In an invitation-only event, the power of smart software suites (Output42), real-time data intelligence (MROair), smart-drones (Donecle), dynamic asset management (Undagrid) and smart damage-mapping (8tree), highlight the promise of rapidly emerging technologies in an era of evolving regulation where seismic generational transitions in workforce are underway.

“Imagine an automated drone carrying a precision 3D scanner that delivers real-time ‘go/no-go’ answers when mapping dents and lightning-strikes on an aircraft”, said Erik Klaas, CTO, 8tree. “Now imagine that the answers, analytics and information collected by the flying scanner are accessible in a cloud-based comprehensive smart software suite that empowers operators to more efficiently track and anticipate interruptions to their operations. This is not a futuristic concept – the building-blocks of this story are already being deployed by airlines and MROs today! At 8tree, we remain committed to building the dentCHECK eco-system, by working with notable industry players to boost efficiency in aviation maintenance.”

At this unique half-day event, five emerging, yet proven, technologies come together to collaborate for the overall benefit of the MRO industry. Through a series of round-table sessions, they will facilitate dialog on how innovations in methods and products, can offer proven strategies for cost-savings, safety and reliability in aviation maintenance.

MRO Innovate 2018 will be held on April 9, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

About 8tree

8tree makes 3D optical surface inspection tools that solve chronic problems for multiple industries. 8tree’s products empower every operator – from mechanics on the floor, to engineers in the lab – with precision measurement, portability and performance. With its patented user-centric product design, instant ‘go/no-go’ answers and zero-learning curve, 8tree is committed to making precision 3D scanning more broadly accessible – technically and commercially.

8tree’s dentCHECK is the world’s only handheld portable and completely wireless 3D scanner to be published with multiple approvals in Airbus’ Tool Equipment Manuals(TEMs) for the express purpose of dent-mapping on metallic aero-structures and composite cabin floor-boards. The world’s leading airlines and MROs, including SIAEC and SR Technics use dentCHECK. Detailed case-studies published by TAP-M&E and easyJet, demonstrate that dentCHECK drastically reduces inspection and reporting times by more than 90% and 80%, respectively. As such, it empowers aircraft maintenance operations with first-of-its-kind objective and consistent dent-inspection and blend-out results. This reduces aircraft Turn-around-Time (TaT), which further reduces lost revenues and very directly improves operational efficiency for airlines. dentCHECK enhances safety through an improved understanding of airframe reliability.

For more information and to see dentCHECK in action, visit 8tree (Booth 1790) at MRO Americas, April 10-12 in Orlando, and always at http://www.8-tree.com.
