The Bewitching Beauty of the Dead Sea: Drone Photographer Ido Meirovich

A harrowing environment at the best of times, the Dead Sea, which in Arabic is known as Al-Baḥr Al-Mayyit (‘The Sea of Death’) is in fact a landlocked salt lake lying on the borders of Israel and Jordan. It is so salty that a person can float in it, but this high saline content also means that animals may not flourish, hence the name. However, one drone photographer brings a new perspective to this lifeless lake with images that one cannot help but admire. Ido Mirovich describes himself as a semi-professional photographer who likes to take a unique approach towards his photography. He not only successfully achieves this by combining “out of the box” perspectives and creativity, but also in our opinion takes the viewer’s metaphorical experience one step further, creating art out of death.
