Dallas Brooks, Director of Raspet Flight Research Laboratory at Mississippi State University and Chairperson of the Board for AUVSI (The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International), is calling out for input from drone industry professionals to help have a positive impact on the future of the commercial and industrial drone industry.
In an email sent today, Brooks puts forward a simple request:
This past May at the XPONENTIAL conference, I shared with many of you AUVSI’s plans to move forward into new areas of service and support to you, the world’s unmanned systems professionals. Today, I’m pleased to say that process is underway.
AUVSI’s Board of Directors has kicked off a top-to-bottom review of our goals, our challenges, and the way that we plan for the future. Key in this effort is hearing from you about what we do well, what we don’t, and what needs changing in order to serve you better. We want to hear about the opportunities you see, the challenges you face, and the ways that we can help you to achieve your goals in the unmanned systems industry.
To do that, I’m asking for your feedback. The week of September 10th, we’ll be sending out an e-mail entitled “We Want to Hear from You.” That e-mail will provide a link to a customized questionnaire that will help us get to the heart of the issues and challenges that impact you the most. We want to know how feel about us, and about the future of unmanned systems—whether your domain is ground, air, maritime or enabling technologies.
Please watch for our email, and take a few minutes to respond. If you have any questions or if you do not receive the survey email next week, please contact Michael Wilbur, Director of Membership, at +1 (571) 255-7774 or [email protected].
If you or anyone in your organisation is interested in answering this call from AUVSI to assist in the shaping the vision for the future of drones, visit AUVSI’s website to ensure you are receiving their newsletter or forward to your colleagues using one of the sharing options at the top of this article.
