Professional and enterprise drone content is promising to be even bigger and better at this year’s InterDrone, as drones continue to become more and more integrated into many fields.

In recognition of the growth of the UAV market in industries from construction, aggregates and mining, energy and infrastructure inspection, precision agriculture, public safety, surveying and mapping, The International Drone Conference and Exposition organisers have announced the continued expansion of content specific to these applications.

UAVs Are Growing Up

The shift from consumer to industry-related UAVs by Interdrone is indicative of the maturation of unmanned aerial technology, and also the conference itself.

Following on from last year’s Interdrone, which featured many vertical-specific tracks, this year’s conference is to be held, which is the largest commercial drone show in North America, will be held September 5 – 7 at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, and organisers are saying they are expecting more than 3,500 UAV professionals to this year’s event from all around the globe.

Not only will industry attendees be able to attend this year’s Enterprise Tracks, but they will also have the opportunity to attend Enterprise After Hours, which will take place on the evening of Wednesday, September 5. Attendees wishing to network will also be able to meet and greet with others from their industry in concurrent special networking events with dedicated rooms and discussion.

Enterprise Drones Are Tracking Along

The vertical-specific tracks are promising to provide great content for industry, with 60-minute panels and classes specific to the verticals mentioned above, which will be woven into the thread of the entire program.

Construction, aggregates and mining attendees will discover and discuss UAV worksite management tools and technologies, covering resource scanning solutions, stockpile assessment, mapping, planning and reporting requirements.

Energy and infrastructure content will explore use-cases and real-world implementations for using drones in oil & gas, wind turbines, powerlines, nuclear energy and utility infrastructure inspection, as well as drone services for infrastructure inspection, including tunnels, bridges, roadways, and railroads.

Those involved in precision agriculture will be able to discover more about how drones are being used in farming today, including data collection and analysis, remote sensing and multispectral imagery.

In the field of public safety – which broadly cover firefighting, search and rescue, and emergency response, surveillance and security – attendees will be able to absorb content in how UAVs are continuing to improve outcomes.

Surveying and mapping industry-specific content covers photogrammetry, point clouds, topographic surveys, building orthomosaics, cadastral and corridor surveying techniques, volumetric collection and calculations, and more.

InterDrone, just like the entire drone industry, has matured - @romeoch Click To Tweet

Romeo Durscher, Director of Public Safety Integration at DJI, has seen the change of focus from consumer to commercial drones. “InterDrone, just like the entire drone industry, has matured. This was my third year [2017] attending, and the focus has shifted from consumer to commercial enterprise with track and vertical presentations, and discussions matching the growth we are seeing out in the field,” he says.

“InterDrone’s audience has become increasingly professional since its inception in 2015,” said Katie Flash, Content Director, InterDrone, adding, “with the addition of the Enterprise After Hours and specific enterprise tracks, we are ensuring we are delivering the most comprehensive program to the commercial drone industry.”

The show this year will feature more than 125 sessions, panel discussions, and keynotes conducted by renowned industry experts, covering numerous commercial drone applications. The Exhibit Hall will showcase the latest hardware, software, and drone accessories from more than 165 leading manufacturers and innovators. Attendee registration is now open.
