What to do on a visit to Hawaii with a brand new DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone? Make a video review of course.

Dan Watson, a drone enthusiast used the new DJI Mavic 2 Pro on a vacation to Maui, Hawaii  and reviewed this sleek and extraordinary drone for other enthusiasts checking out its outstanding features like the 4k, D-log, slow motion, build, and range.

This newer version of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, has sensors all around the body frame as well as lights that aid landing.

A  USB C type connector to connect to the laptop and a beefed up new motor which is practically noiseless when it hovers a few hundred feet above the user, plus much quieter propellers as well. Watson reports a convenient new dial to access or change between the tripod and the sports modes.

Its remote has a screen for displaying details and removable joysticks that make the Mavic 2 Pro really small and compact to pack and carry.

Its camera has a 28 millimetre that allows a wide angle view; add to that a cropped 4K mode that videographers can choose to bump up the aperture to 40 mm.

In Watson’s experience, the adjustable aperture is an incredible feature.

He also tried the vouchers for the upgrade in filters from the F2.8 in the DJ Mavic Air to the F11 in the Mavic 2 Pro.

The filters can be changed while shooting the video with the shutter speed of 50th of a second and to a 200th of a second while capturing still images!! Users can also adjust the aperture to a slow shutter speeds and get cinematic videos.

Watson shot a 10 bit video in H. 265 that was very easy to create and looked crystal clear and clean with detailing like grass and trees from overhead aerial angles.

What makes it sweeter, says Watson, is the fact that there was no buffering delay or signal interference in the 31 minute flight of his DJI Mavic 2 Pro.

Also, the newer version has an 8Gb internal memory. Users can also charge their phone through the remote control while shooting simultaneously. The Activetrack feature is much improved from the earlier version with a continuous autofocus.

It also allows for tilting of the gimbal up by 30° with complete stability and never letting the horizon blur.

In Watson’s view, DJI have nailed it for quality portability and photographs, meaning the DJI Mavic 2 Pro upgrade is well worth the money.

Another die hard DJI fan Mauro, used the DJI Mavic 2 Pro as well as a Ronin-S with Sony A7 III camera on a recent trip to Portugal and in sharing his experience said that the crystal clear imagery captured by the drone camera, be it of the boat, over bridges or an aerial view outdoors, was outstanding.

Even inside libraries and in the low lighting during sunset hours every picture in the frame is crystal clear. The camera filmed natural scenery,  buildings and bustling city life and its many bright lights with consistent stability at all times.

With all these impressive features, the Mavic 2 Pro is up for sale at USD $1,499 currently.
